FilmRoom ("we," "us," or "our") operates the FilmRoom mobile application and the website at getfilmroom.com (together, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our Service.

1. Information We Collect

Information you provide

• Account information: When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and/or phone number depending on your sign-in method (Apple, Google, phone, or email).
• Player profiles: Name and self-reported skill level for each player profile you create.
• Video content: Basketball shooting videos you upload or record through the app for analysis.
• Waitlist information: If you join our waitlist, we collect your email address and optional role (player, coach, trainer, parent).

Information collected automatically

• Device information: Device type, operating system, unique device identifiers, and app version.
• Usage data: Features used, analysis requests, session duration, and interaction patterns.
• Crash and performance data: Error logs and performance metrics collected through Sentry to help us identify and fix issues.

2. How We Use Your Information

• Provide the Service: Process your videos using AI-powered pose estimation and ball detection to generate shooting form analysis and coaching feedback.
• Personalization: Build player-specific baselines and tailor coaching feedback to your skill level.
• Improve the Service: Analyze usage patterns and performance data to improve our AI models and user experience.
• Communications: Send you service updates, launch announcements, and respond to your inquiries. We do not send marketing emails without your consent.
• Safety and security: Detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and security incidents.

3. How We Process Your Videos

When you upload a video, our AI system processes it to extract body pose landmarks, detect ball and rim positions, identify shooting phases, and generate coaching feedback. We use computer vision models (pose estimation, object detection) and large language models to produce analysis results. Your videos are stored securely and are only accessible to you through your authenticated account.

We do not use your videos to train AI models without your explicit consent. We do not share your videos with third parties.

4. Third-Party Services

We use the following third-party services to operate FilmRoom:

• Apple Sign-In / Google Sign-In: For authentication. We receive your name and email; we do not access your Apple or Google account data beyond what is needed to sign you in.
• Sentry: For crash reporting and error monitoring. Sentry receives anonymized error and performance data.
• OpenAI / Anthropic: To generate coaching feedback from your analysis data. We send anonymized shooting metrics (not raw video) to these services.
• Supabase: For waitlist data storage.
• Railway: For hosting our backend services.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Original uploaded videos are automatically deleted after processing is complete; only annotated analysis videos and numerical data are retained to provide session history. You may delete your account and all associated data at any time from within the app (Profile → Delete Account), or by contacting us at [email protected].

Waitlist data is retained until you unsubscribe or the waitlist is closed.

6. Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data, including encryption in transit (HTTPS/TLS), secure token-based authentication with automatic token rotation, and hashed storage of verification codes and refresh tokens. However, no method of electronic transmission or storage is 100% secure.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your location, you may have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Object to or restrict processing of your data
• Request a portable copy of your data
• Withdraw consent at any time

8. Children's Privacy

FilmRoom is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it.

Users between 13 and 18 may use FilmRoom with the consent of a parent or guardian.

9. International Data Transfers

Your data may be transferred to and processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. We ensure appropriate safeguards are in place for such transfers.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated policy on this page and updating the effective date. Your continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
